Hey there! Ever feel like your belly is blowing up like a balloon after a meal? Yep, bloating – it’s like an uninvited guest crashing your digestive party. But fear not! I’ve got some natural remedies up my sleeve to help you kick that bloating to the curb and reclaim your comfort.
I have struggled with bloating for a while now. It affects my whole face, belly, and hands, not to mention my mood, because it’s hard to show up bright and cheery when you feel so weighed down. When I stopped breastfeeding my girls it got even worse. I had to get it under control, so I tried everything: belly massages, gas pills, exercising, changing my diet, and while those things helped a little – here are the five things that really changed the game for me! So without further ado, here are my five best natural remedies for bloating.
A QUICK DISCLAIMER
I’m not a medical professional. The tips I’m sharing are based on my own experiences and some research I’ve done. We’re all unique, so what works for me might not work for you. If something doesn’t seem right, it’s best to stop and talk to a doctor, especially if you think there might be a bigger problem.

Five Natural Remedies for Bloating
#1 Ginger Tea and Lemon
My first and favorite natural remedy for bloating is ginger and lemon tea. Okay, hear me out on this because I know it is going to sound absolutely crazy! I switched out my morning coffee with a warm cup of ginger tea with a slice of lemon. I am a big morning coffee girl, but this one thing has made a HUGE difference. Ginger might just be your new best friend when it comes to beating the bloat. Ginger is a spicy superhero for your stomach, revving up your digestion and saying “not today” to bloating woes.
According to a study done by Johns Hopkins Medicine, ginger increases your gastrointestinal motility. In other words, it helps your food digest more efficiently so it is not sitting in your stomach. Check out my favorite ginger tea here. If you are not sure about ginger tea, peppermint tea is also a great option. Peppermint helps to calm down your digestive muscles so you can wave bye-bye to bloat.
Similarly, lemon helps to kick-start digestion and fight bloating, indigestion, and heartburn. It also stimulates the production of bile and gastric juices, which help prevent gas buildup. So squeeze some lemon into your ginger tea in the morning and feel your body gear up for the day of digesting.
#2 Incorporate a Multi-Vitamin with probiotics
When you feel bloated, it’s time to bring in the probiotics squad! These good bacteria work wonders for your gut, restoring balance and keeping bloating at bay. Get your dose from yogurt, kefir, or a trusty probiotic supplement. My go-to supplement is Root’d Her Multi. Not only is each serving packed with essential vitamins and minerals, but it also includes superfoods and probiotics, which help improve the absorption of food and support gut health. Plus, it is packed with electrolytes so you can boost your hydration, which is good because that is my next tip!

#3 Hydration, Hydration, Hydration!
For my third natural remedy for bloating, I bring you: WATER! Water is so important. It forms the basis of all of our body’s fluids, including our blood. If you don’t drink enough water, your body will work on overdrive to retain what you do give it. This causes quite the backup in your belly. So don’t skimp on your water intake. Drink at least 64oz a day, and if you are breastfeeding, double that! I have said this before, but my Stanley has been my bestie when it comes to water intake!
Don’t forget to incorporate electrolytes throughout your day to keep your body balanced. Some electrolytes include sodium, potassium, chloride, magnesium, and calcium. If you are not getting enough through your diet, a supplement like Root’d is a great option.
#4 Eat Mindfully
Listen to your body. Yes, eating healthier foods will, of course, help you feel better. But equally as important is how the food you eat makes you feel better. Everybody is different so slow down while you eat (which will help reduce trapped gas) and pay attention to what your boy is saying. What is helpful for one person can be harmful to another’s gut microbiome. Sometimes, bloating can be something deeper. If you think that might be the case, chat with your doctor!
Small Changes, Big Impact: Eating smaller meals, cutting back on bubbly drinks, and ditching the gum can all make a world of difference. Your belly will thank you!
#5 Move Mindfully
Lastly, don’t forget the power of movement. Go for a walk, do some yoga, or try a new exercise program. Whatever you choose to do, do it with intention. Movement is like a little massage for your belly, helping loosen things up so you can feel some sweet relief. Make sure what you decide to do feels right in your body. There is no need to push your body past its limits.
So there you have it – five natural tricks to bid farewell to bloating and hello to a happier tummy. Give ’em a try and get ready to reclaim your digestive bliss. And remember, if bloating sticks around like that pesky party crasher who just won’t leave, it’s always a good idea to chat with your doc. Here’s to a bloating-free life – cheers! 🎉
